Haggai + Zechariah

Haggai is the first of the three post-exilic prophets, the other two being Zechariah and Malachi. The work on the temple had ceased, and Haggai reminded the Jewish remnant to reorder its priorities and complete the temple before they could expect the blessings of God.
Zechariah is a younger contemporary of Haggai in the post-exilic period, offering a very positive theme—the temple must be rebuilt for someday the glory of the Messiah would inhabit it. God’s people must continue following God in faithfulness.
