2 Kings traces the history of the northern kingdom of Israel falling into Assyrian captivity in 722 BC. It continues with the history of the surviving southern kingdom of Judah falling to the Babylonians in 586 BC. The kings who reign in both kingdoms are clearly labeled as either good or evil.
