eat, pray, love

The Merry Ministries leadership team retreated to Barbara Conklin’s beautiful  waterfront home in Port Aransas August 17-19.  Barbara, our MM Tuesday night coordinator, myself, and 12 others from the leadership team were there to eat, pray, love . . . and plan for the upcoming year.  (Kathy Huebner, our new MM Wednesday morning coordinator, injured her knee and was not able to make the trip.)

The team also did a video-driven book study entitled “BECOMING MORE than  a Good Bible Study Girl” by Lysa Terkeurst.  We had each read the book before the retreat so that we would be ready to view the video and discuss each section.  One of our goals as leaders is to continually be in God’s Word and challenging each other to grow spiritually.  We committed to being very intentional about spending time in God’s Word and in prayer.

Another goal we have is to strive to make each year better than the previous year.  We never want to become complacent.  Merry Ministries is one of God’s vessel for reaching women in Ft. Bend through the study of His Word.  We do not take that responsibility lightly.  We want every woman who enters our doors to feel the love of God and our love.  We want them to experience a meaningful time in worshiping through music, studying the Bible, praying and fellowship.

Our fall semester begins Tuesday, September 7 and Wednesday, September 8.  Registration is going on right now.  We encourage you to invite your friends to join us.  The will be an exciting session as we complete our study of the New Testament by digging in to 1, 2, 3 John, Jude and Revelation.

If you are on Facebook or Twitter, please use it to let your friends know about Merry Ministries.  Just ask them to visit our website:  www.merryministries.com .   (If I’m not your friend on FB, please invite me – Mary Mills Willis.)

One other thing, would you please spend some time praying for me as I study and prepare.  Please pray for Merry Ministries as a whole.  Ask God to bring those women to our group that He wants there.

God bless you all.  You are the best!!!

Mary

Holy Land Tour Scheduled for February

One of the most moving experiences of my life came in January 2008 when Ken and I traveled to Israel with a church tour group.  The Bible came alive as we walked where Jesus walked.  We stood in the places we’ve read about in the Old and New Testaments. I will never look at the Bible the same.  It brought a totally new perspective to studying [...]

Friend Day Was a Success!

Our annual Friend Day celebration was a great success due to the great food, beautiful decorations,  awesome music, and timely message from the Ephesians on how to “Dress for Success” by putting on the full armor of God.
Special thanks go to Barbara Conklin, Kay Zost, Tricia Zody and our whole leadership team!
